A47 eastbound, Trowse Newton entry slip – urgent resurfacing
I’m writing to tell you that we plan to carry out urgent resurfacing work on the A47 eastbound at Trowse Newton on the entry slip road. Once complete, drivers should benefit from a safer and better-defined road surface.
We plan to complete this work over one night on Wednesday 23 September 2026. We will work between 8pm and 6am, weather permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the A47 eastbound Trowse Newton entry slip road, and divert traffic as follows:
- Traffic should join the A47 westbound and exit at the next junction for the A140 Ipswich Road interchange.
- At the interchange roundabout take the sixth exit to rejoin the A47 eastbound back towards Trowse Newton.
- Continue your journey on the A47 eastbound.
Please note that emergency vehicles will have access through the works but with caution.
