Lingwood Junior Parkrun Report for APM 14/4/2026
On Sunday 4th May 2025 an excited and committed group of core volunteers launched Lingwood Village Hall Junior parkrun, a national running event for children aged 4-14. We gather at 9am on every Sunday at the football huts for a run briefing and warm up followed by the 2k course that weaves around the meadow behind the village hall field.
We’re soon approaching our first full year and so far we’ve put on 48 events, welcomed 431 different finishers and clocked up an impressive 2,325 finishes in total. Along the way, 120 amazing volunteers have helped people achieve 447 personal bests, with an average finish time of 13 minutes and 1 second. It’s been a great first year for us!
At Lingwood Village Hall Junior Parkrun we like to keep things exciting- with music at the start and finish line, themed warm-ups and a bubble-filled finale- we like to think we are the most fun parkrun out there! We’ve also enjoyed special optional dress-up events at Halloween and Christmas and it’s great to see the children and adults take part.
We’re getting ready to celebrate our first birthday on Sunday 3rd May 2026. To mark the occasion, we’re inviting everyone to come along in a onesie and to join in the celebrations. As usual, we start at 9am prompt on the back field at Lingwood Village Hall.
We’re very grateful for all the support we have received from the local community and especially to all our volunteers and marshals who give us much more than just their time, thank you very much- we couldn’t do it without you.
